Not Trite | Mid-century Painting of Knights

I love this painting because it showcases otherwise heroic characters in a very nonheroic way. We are usually used to seeing knights in noble poses or perhaps even in battle. How trite, right? What really interests me is discovering how they spent the time in between; like did they have to run to the cobbler to pick up their battle boots? 

This mid-century painting of knights would be great in a study or library.
